What is Floorplay? This is a trademarked name which originated from the Orlando, FL based Dance Instructor Mark Traynor. The name comes from the "personality" of the West Coast Swing dance where both partners are able to "play" with the music by doing foot patterns on the dance floor individually or together. Mark trademarked the name of this concept and then lent it to 5 clubs in the state of Florida that enjoy West Coast Swing-predominantly. All clubs are non-smoking.
How to join a Floorplay club? Go to any of the clubs- Melbourne (ours-10 years old 2009!), Orlando, Tampa, South Florida, Daytona, Greensboro, NC, and Greensville, SC and leave your attitude at the door. Come in to dance West Coast Swing and a mix of other dances with everyone! We are known for the "friendliest dance clubs!"

When: The LAST Saturday of each month NEXT DANCE September 25, 2010!
Where: The American Legion Post #81 2909 S. Harbor City Blvd. (US 1) Melbourne, FL 32901 next to Hess station just North of University Blvd. Park in back, get buzzed in and walk through the bar to the dance hall.
Lesson: 7:30-8 PM West Coast Swing with Laura Beers
Dance/Party: 8-11 PM The dance with Dance DJ John for Swing, Country, Latin and some Ballroom
Cost: $10 includes the lesson and dance!
Waters & Soft Drinks available and snacks generously brought by members. No Smoking please. Very inexpensive alcoholic drinks available in the bar (next room).
Dances: West and East Coast Swing, Retro Swing, 2 Step, Cha Cha, Niteclub 2, Salsa, Merengue, Hustle, Waltz and some Ballroom too!
Floorplay's New Year's Eve Vacation hosted annually by all the Floorplay clubs-for mostly West Coast Swing dancing, workshops and some competition including the Florida State Swing Championships. See www.floorplayswing.com for more info.
